Futures (long-term bets):

As the name suggests, these are bets that cover a long period of time. Normally, these are bets you can place on events like the Finals of the World Championship of Formula 1, Tour of France or Wimbledon months before they begin.

Future bets are placed in advance for a sporting event. The main advantage of

future bets is that you can get appealing odds by betting when the bookies make them public.

Future Odds in a Sportsbook:

As an example, placing a future bet in a sports team from the Spanish football league can often get you higher odds for that same team by betting early, before the start of the season.
