Teasers

By JAR | Sportsbook-dmoz.com

Many times players who seek new challenges and adventures encounter a form of betting quite interesting and sometimes misunderstood, this way of betting is called teasers.

Well I don't want to make a very long explanation so I can say that teaser is a parlay in which the team's points or the total for each individual play are adjusted in other words a teaser is a parlay consisting of a series of bets with purchase of points instead of straight bets.

Usually this type of betting is used in football and basketball and the minimum is two teams however, the maximum depends on the sportsbook. The points to be deducted have a different basis for both sports, each sport handles different rules so that bets are different as well, although the number of teams are often similar and the payments increase because of the amount of teams chosen.

To make clear the issue, the points of what we speak are the points of advantage, when you have less points they drop and when the points are more these up this method gives advantage to the bettor to improve his probabilities to win.

One of the disadvantages of teasers is that if any team makes up the bet loses this is considered a total loss of the bet. Therefore, if a player has bet on 7 teams and everyone wins but only one loses the player will lose everything but remember go for a better payment involves greater risk.

Many players wonder, How can I use a form of betting that can leave me with nothing at the end and besides that it is so risky?

Well the answer is simple if you are a smart player who decides to play teasers instead of buying points on straight bets you will get chances of winning significantly higher than it would be if bought direct stakes points. Moreover if we compare the straight bets with purchase "teasers" provides a much larger number of points to adjust the lines of the team or the total.

In a two team teaser if one of the 2 teams tie and the other team wins, the result of this teaser is a "bet canceled." On the other hand, In a three team teaser (or more than three teams), if one or more of the teams tie, the teaser becomes a "teaser of lower composition"

One of the main recommendations that I give to the players before they decide to bet on teasers is to consult from the outset, on the exact odds offered. This is important because some sportsbooks provide better odds than others so it is essential to make a good choice.
